GIVING TUESDay 2025

On 2 December 2025 people across the UK and around the world will be supporting the causes and charities they believe in. Giving Tuesday is an opportunity to provide a lifeline to communities affected by disaster.

What happens on Giving Tuesday?

The Giving Tuesday campaign provides a platform for people to support charities in a range of different ways. Every year in December, people are encouraged to use the day to give back however they can: by donating, volunteering, sharing skills or celebrating the generosity of others.

All kinds of organisations are involved in the day, from charities to small businesses and large corporations, schools, religious or sports groups, social enterprises and community groups.

How can I help this Giving Tuesday?

This Giving Tuesday you can help by supporting the DEC’s emergency appeals that provide food, water, shelter, healthcare and other lifesaving aid to people affected by disaster. You can do this by donating, running a fundraising event or raising awareness about our appeals.

The DEC’s open appeals are the Middle East Humanitarian Appeal, supporting people impacted by conflict in Gaza, Lebanon, the West Bank and Syria, and the Myanmar Earthquake Appeal, providing aid to communities affected by the devastating earthquake in March 2025.

Community fundraisers

From bake sales to charity runs, comedy events to art sales, recent community fundraising efforts across the country have helped DEC charities and their partners to deliver vital support to people affected by disaster.

Comedy event

Nish Kumar is among the comedians who helped raise funds for the DEC Middle East Humanitarian Appeal in 2025.

'For Peace in Palestine,' a night of comedy fundraising show was held at The Fitzrovia Chapel in September 2025 in London.

Hosted by Robin Clyfan comedians performing alongside Nish Kumar were Dane Buckley, Dee Allum, Daman Bamrah, Celya AB and Ed Night

Culture Day

Pupils and staff at Lawnswood School in Leeds raised £894.97 for the DEC as part of their Culture Day and summer festival in July 2025.

Assistant Headteacher Fiona Gilbank said, "We chose to raise money for the DEC because we usually focus on charities which support people in areas affected by war or natural disasters.

"Our school population is very diverse and we have many students whose wider families are impacted by such events."
