Although the DEC relies mainly on donations from the members of the public, support from companies is also extremely welcome. Fundraising at work can be fun for staff and provide excellent team building opportunities for employers. Large corporate gifts can generate significant public relations benefits.
Every penny counts, so please take advantage of the gift aid scheme for payroll and match giving to ensure any staff donations are tax-efficient.

Promote our appeals
Assisting us in publicising our appeals is one of the most important ways you can ensure people in a disaster get the aid they need.
- Use your social network and business communities to help Spread the Word about our appeal.
- Place our posters to help publicise our appeal.
Staff fundraising
Encouraging your staff to fundraise for a DEC appeal is a great way to strengthen team spirit and promote your company’s commitment to corporate social responsibility.
We’ve lots of ideas for and downloadable toolkits to help you.
Matched Giving
You can match the money your employees give to the DEC.
A 100 per cent match would equal each employee's gift pound-for-pound.
It can be capped by setting a limit for each employee.
Payroll Giving
Payroll Giving is a flexible scheme enabling employees to make tax-free charitable donations.
By setting up a gift through your payroll, your employees can make charitable donations straight from their salary.
The CAF Give As You Earn toolkit will help you set up and promote this scheme to your staff.
