The DEC is a unique and dynamic membership organisation which comprises 15 of the UK’s leading humanitarian charities, pooling our resources to work as one. We are pivotal in co-ordinating the UK public's response to overseas disasters. In collaboration with our Rapid Response Network of national media and corporate partners, we raise the alarm to the UK public and set up easy ways to donate, with most of our funds raised over an intensive two-week period following a disaster.
Since our launch in 1963, we have run over 75 fundraising appeals and raised more than £2 billion, saving countless lives and rebuilding communities.
We are now seeking a Media and Creative Content Lead to join us on a full-time, fixed term basis, to support the Communications team to ensure the DEC has powerful imagery, videography, and case studies to inspire, inform, and account for how the Turkey-Syria Earthquake appeal funds are being spent. The post holder will lead on content gathering, ensuring it is accurate, derived from subject matter experts and meets internal ethical standards.
This is a rewarding opportunity for someone interested in humanitarian appeals, has demonstrable knowledge of the Turkish or Syrian culture, speaks Turkish or Arabic and has a flair for demonstrating their creative and design skills. You will join a tenacious and dedicated team and organisation, with opportunities to learn and grow in a supportive environment.
