As well as lives and homes, Typhoon Haiyan also destroyed people’s ability to earn a living. Fishing is a major industry in the Philippines, and estimates suggest that 28,000 small-scale fishing boats were destroyed across the country, depriving tens of thousands of people of their livelihoods.
To help fishermen restore their main source of income Concern is working in Concepcion, a coastal municipality in the province of Iloilo, to help fishermen repair damaged boats and rebuild new ones.
