Years of drought have cost people dear, and the pattern of the seasons is no longer a foregone conclusion.

East Africa is experiencing its first successful rainy season in more than two years, and DEC donations are helping people rebuild their lives.

The DEC launched an appeal after one of the worst droughts in generations devastated East Africa in March 2017. This appeal is now closed and all funds have been spent.

This appeal is now closed. Thanks to generous donations from the public, over £77 million was raised to help people affected by this crisis.
